According to the Britannica Concise Encyclopedia "modern numerology attaches a series of digits to an inquirer's name and uses these, along with the date of birth, to reveal the person's true nature and prospects (using a method analogous to that of the Greek and Hebrew alphabets in which each letter also represented a number)." It also says that "numerology is based on the assertion by Pythagoras that all things can be expressed in numerical terms, because they are ultimately...

Phil Reavis has been in about a dozen Muncie/Bloomington/Indianapolis bands over the years including several on the Bob Chaos compilation [WM004]: The Disposable Airsickness Band, Atomic Butterfly and Soul Celtics, which is really the Mad Hatters Phil was in Latent Chaos too, but not during their classic Bob period. Outside of bands Phil has accumulated a bunch of rough sketches, songs, collaborations and improvisations many of which appear here on Driving Me Backwards, a sampler of his...

Bacco definition: "Few of everything but nothing enough". Bacco keeps himself busy with a lot of things without going too far and, since is really lazy he's developed a great aptitude to justify his poor doings.

The Century of Aeroplanes is music by Rob Collier. Rob and the Century of Aeroplanes live in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. Sometimes Rob plays music with other people, sometimes Rob makes music by himself. Madison Stubblefield often helps Rob write and record music. Warning: The Century of Aeroplanes does not have any techno drumbeats.

Salam was founded in 1998 in Zichuinchor, Senegal. At that time Thierno Barry played at cultural evenings and at the Alliance Franco/Senegal, together with another guitar player. Thierno wanted more, however, so he started an adventurous journey, alone with his guitar. He moved to Abéné, a small village near Casamance river, where he met a fabulous percussion player. A new Salam was born. Current members of Salam: Thierno Barry : vocals and guitar Diakass : percussion and vocals Ajji Boj :...

Ever since René Vis [1959] heard music, deep in his heart he wanted to make it. But for many years severe bashfullness held him back. When he was about twenty he played around with a Korg MS20 and began to write songs. Except for some lo-fi tapes made at home, nothing else happened. When he was 35 René learned the basic chords on guitar, bought a second hand Yamaha QY20 and more songs were made. Still mostly unheard by others. Then he bought a pc and went on the Internet. And this is where...

On this brand new album you can listen to 5 new analogue, groovy, funny electropop songs. It's almost like a "back tot the past" trip listening to these tracks. HAPPY ELF knows exactly how to create the atmosphere of eighties popmusic, because he plays all instruments by hand and doesn't use a computer (o.k. a drumcomputer). The voice of HAPPY ELF makes every track complete and makes you wonder why only beautiful and crafted singers dominate the popmusic market. HAPPY ELF brings you...

YAWK! is a word that Vernon LeNoir likes to say, when something strange happens during production. It expresses the connection to the subconcious archetype Conrad Vitus Skopzik called "Archetype of Wonder". The manifestation of an entity as wonder doesn't come via a subjective view of life but as an objective expression of natures unbearable cry of flesh. The soul of berserk, that tries to hide under several layers of social and religious conventions of man has the power of...

Happy Elf is the name of multi instrumentalist Jeroen Elfferich's soloproject. He has released 8 albums since 1999. The music of Happy Elf can be labeled as electro, but actually it is much more than that: itÂs pop music made with analogue synthesizers. First Contact is a 4 track cd which gives you an idea of Happy ElfÂs music. The tracks are from the earlier albums Bright Normal Deep and Bingo in the Country. After A fifth of Splogman and Splogman’s sixth sense Jan Turkenburg is going back in time with "4 Tributes to 365 days and 1 bonus". Although on both previous releases some tracks contained samples of Otis Fodder's 365 days project in 2003 the first four of these cut and paste pieces were never released apart from a temporary link on the project’s website.

Chenard Walcker, a friend of the online music world, is slowly recovering from a diabetic coma. His brother reports that he is not physically suffering. He fell into the coma in September 2006, and is now working on speech development and object differentiation. So many of us have benefited from and enjoy Chenard's work. This is our chance to repay our sweet friend and to send him our love with a tribute release on WM Recordings.

Take your seat and have another journey into the weird accoustic world of Zloty Dawai. Is it Free Jazz? Is it Noise? The Zloties don’t give a damn. The five guys from Cologne just recorded this one in 4 different takes directly on CD. Totally improvised - no overdubs – no censorship.

5 cologne-based improv-musicians try to do the impossible: to let go ..! To forget about their 60s to 90s influences as independent music-addicts as they were and try to do their sound. Someone said "Modern Free-Jazz". Someone said "Soundtrack-Scores". Fact is: It`s totally improvised, uncensored, no overdubs. It's done directly on CD. So go ahead and just blow your cool!
